The total investment of ₹197 crore will be funded through a combination of equity, term loans, and financial assistance from the HADP. Key allocations include ₹71 crore for pre-production and production systems, ₹58 crore for post-harvest management and value addition, ₹13 crore for logistics, branding, and marketing, and ₹56 crore for other project-related infrastructure. This financial structure is designed to support large-scale infrastructure creation, benefiting farmers and strengthening the company’s integrated value chain.
The project will establish modern infrastructure for pre-production and scientific farming, post-harvest management, state-of-the-art processing facilities, and branding, logistics, and marketing linkages. This infrastructure is intended to enhance the quality and global competitiveness of Jammu’s Basmati varieties. The project will directly benefit farmers by increasing yields through scientific seed distribution, lowering production costs, ensuring access to high-demand markets, and providing better storage and processing systems.
Under the program, large-scale seed distribution is planned, covering 91,254 hectares under Basmati (B370), 36,623 hectares under CSR 30, and 52,229 hectares under PB 1121 / PB 1501 and other premium varieties. This approach aims to ensure higher productivity while preserving the unique aroma and grain quality of Jammu Basmati.
The project is expected to be implemented in phases, with specific milestones to be achieved as per the guidelines of the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme. The involvement of JKHPMC is crucial for the project’s success, providing the necessary support and oversight to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
