Tejas Networks Limited announced that PowerTel, a subsidiary of Power Grid Corporation of India Limited, has selected the company for a 400Gbps capacity upgrade of its pan-India DWDM network. The project includes network design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning using Tejas’ TJ1600 DWDM/OTN platform, capable of 1.2Tbps per wavelength. The deployment will upgrade existing infrastructure and install new high-capacity optical links. The network is based on SDN architecture and supports alien wavelength technology to enhance scalability and interoperability.

Tejas Networks Limited announced that PowerGrid Teleservices Limited (PowerTel), a subsidiary of Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL), has selected the company for a Telecom Capacity Augmentation Project to upgrade its pan-India DWDM network to 400Gbps.

The project involves complete network design, supply, installation, testing, commissioning, and integration of a next-generation Software Defined Networking (SDN)-based Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) system. It covers both new greenfield installations and upgrades of existing links across PowerTel’s national optical network.

Tejas Networks will deploy its multi-terabit TJ1600 DWDM/OTN platform, capable of delivering up to 1.2Tbps per wavelength. The system supports advanced alien wavelength technology, enabling high-capacity transmission over third-party optical line systems. This deployment is aimed at enhancing backbone capacity and network scalability for data center operators, telecom carriers, government agencies, and large enterprises that utilize PowerTel’s network.

The project strengthens the long-standing association between Tejas Networks and PowerTel. The deployment of Tejas’ DWDM solution will facilitate a high-performance and future-ready optical infrastructure supporting large-scale data transport.
