Samvardhana Motherson Secures Incentives Under ECMS

Motherson Electronic Components Private Limited (MECPL), a subsidiary of Samvardhana Motherson International Limited (SAMIL), has secured incentives under the Government of India’s Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme. The incentives are part of the Electronics Components Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS) announced by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) for the production of enclosures for the consumer electronics industry.

The incentives are set for a duration of six years, covering the period from FY 26 to FY 31. During this time, MECPL is expected to make a cumulative investment of Rs. 1,900 crores. The company plans to create over 5,000 employment opportunities at its facility located in Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu.

Motherson is recognized as a global Design, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Assembly (D.E.M.A.) specialist. The company’s inclusion in the ECMS initiative highlights its capabilities in scaling operations within high-value segments such as consumer electronics. Motherson’s role in the scheme aligns with its efforts to build a resilient value chain for the automotive, aerospace, and consumer electronics industries in India.
