JSW Steel Reports 7.48 Million Tonnes Crude Steel Production in Q3 FY26

The production for Indian operations stood at 7.28 million tonnes, while JSW Steel USA – Ohio contributed 0.20 million tonnes. The overall consolidated production saw a quarter-on-quarter decrease of 5% from the previous quarter’s 7.90 million tonnes. The year-on-year increase was attributed to higher production levels in Indian operations, which rose by 7% from the previous year.
Operational activities were affected by the shutdown of Blast Furnace 3 (BF3) at the Vijayanagar plant, which is undergoing capacity upgradation. This shutdown began at the end of September 2025 and is scheduled for completion by the end of the fourth quarter of FY26. As a result, the capacity utilization for Indian operations excluding BF3 was approximately 93%, while including BF3, it was 85%.
The production volume for the first nine months of FY26 reached 22.65 million tonnes, a 12% increase from the 20.16 million tonnes recorded in the same period of the previous fiscal year. Indian operations accounted for 21.97 million tonnes, while JSW Steel USA – Ohio contributed 0.68 million tonnes during this period.
The timeline for the commissioning of the upgraded BF3 is set for the end of Q4 FY26. This upgrade is expected to enhance the production capacity at the Vijayanagar plant, which is the largest single-location steel-producing facility in India with a current capacity of 17.5 million tonnes per annum.
