The financial terms of the transaction include the acquisition of TMI Healthcare Private Limited, the entity operating People Tree Hospital, and the hospital’s building and land. The total transaction value of INR 430 Crs encompasses the debt associated with TMI Healthcare. Fortis plans to invest an additional INR 410 Crs over the next three years to enhance the hospital’s infrastructure, medical equipment, and clinical programs.
The operational scope of this investment involves expanding the bed capacity of People Tree Hospital from 125 to over 300 beds. The hospital, located in a densely populated area of North-West Bengaluru, offers specialties such as Cardiac Sciences, Orthopedics, Neuro Sciences, Renal Sciences, and Gastroenterology. The planned investment will support the development of Radiation Oncology and other clinical programs.
This acquisition is part of Fortis’ broader strategy to focus on cluster growth in Bengaluru. The company currently operates seven facilities in the region, with a potential to increase its bed capacity from 900 to over 1500 beds. The transaction is expected to be completed by the end of January 2026, pending customary closing conditions.
