Avro India Launches ₹25 Crore Plastic Recycling Facility

Filed: January 8, 2026

Filing Summary

Avro India Limited has launched a new recycling facility in Ghaziabad, focusing on flexible plastic waste. The facility, operated by its subsidiary AVRO Recycling Limited, has a processing capacity of 500 metric tonnes per month. The company has invested ₹25 crore in the facility and plans an additional ₹30 crore by FY 2027. This initiative aligns with India’s Extended Producer Responsibility norms, requiring 30% recycled content in plastics. Avro India aims to address the supply gap in recycled materials, positioning itself as a key player in sustainable plastic management.

Avro India Limited has announced the launch of a new recycling facility in Ghaziabad, operated by its wholly owned subsidiary, AVRO Recycling Limited. This facility is designed to process flexible plastic waste, with a current capacity of 500 metric tonnes per month. The company has invested ₹25 crore in this greenfield project, with plans to increase investment by an additional ₹30 crore by the fiscal year 2027.

The capital expenditure for the recycling plant stands at ₹25 crore. Avro India plans to invest an additional ₹30 crore by FY 2027 to further enhance the facility’s capabilities. The facility aims to address the demand for high-quality recycled materials, which is expected to grow due to the Government of India’s Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) norms. These norms mandate the use of at least 30% recycled plastic content in rigid plastics, creating a significant supply gap that Avro India intends to fill.

The recycling facility focuses on processing difficult-to-recycle plastic waste, such as cement bags and sugar bags, which were traditionally handled by the unorganised sector. Avro India has developed a proprietary system to upcycle this complex waste, enabling the responsible processing of nearly 1 million metric tonnes per annum. The recycled granules produced are used in manufacturing high-value products, including plastic furniture and automotive components. These granules are available at up to 40% lower cost than virgin plastic, meeting stringent technical and durability standards.

Avro India’s initiative aligns with the Government of India’s EPR norms, which require the use of recycled plastic content in rigid plastics. This regulatory framework has created a supply gap for high-quality recycled materials, which Avro India aims to address. The company has positioned itself as a reliable player in the flexible plastic recycling space, offering consistent volumes at an industrial scale.

The facility is currently operational, with plans for further expansion. Avro India is also developing a pan-India network of ‘mother and baby’ recycling plants to decentralise waste processing. This strategy aims to accelerate India’s transition to a circular economy, with Avro India playing a significant role in sustainable plastic management.

Avro India Limited is a leading manufacturer of plastic furniture and recycled polymer solutions. The company focuses on transforming plastic waste into high-value, durable products, contributing to India’s circular economy. Avro India operates with a cost-effective pricing strategy, offering products approximately 40% lower than national brands, driven by operational efficiency and high-volume production.
