Ajit Sinha joins Angel One with over 24 years of experience in corporate law, financial services, capital markets, and banking. Prior to this, he was Vice President at the National Stock Exchange of India Limited (NSE), where he led the corporate legal team since December 2018. At NSE, Sinha managed legal strategy, governance, and risk management across domestic and international entities. His expertise includes securities laws, mergers and acquisitions, litigation, intellectual property, and enterprise risk frameworks.
During his tenure at NSE, Sinha supported Board and senior management compliance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act. He structured mergers, acquisitions, and group restructurings, and managed the global intellectual property portfolio across 40 jurisdictions. Sinha also provided legal leadership for the establishment of SGX connect at NSE’s international exchange and international bullion exchanges at GIFT City. He guided NSE Group subsidiaries across IT solutions, edtech, data and indices, CSR, and international exchange businesses.
Before NSE, Sinha spent a decade at HSBC, serving as Vice President – Legal (Retail Banking) and later as Senior Legal Counsel – Corporate Banking. He supported corporate and retail banking businesses and advised on data protection matters. Earlier, he was Regional Legal Counsel – North at Citicorp Finance India Limited, where he led the regional legal function and established in-house arbitration mechanisms.
