ACME Solar Signs 200 MW PPA with SECI at INR 3.42 per Unit
Filing Summary
ACME Solar Holdings Limited, through its subsidiary ACME Platinum Urja Private Limited, has executed a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with SECI Limited for a 200 MW solar project with Energy Storage System (ESS). The project, set at a tariff of INR 3.42 per unit, will supply renewable energy during solar and peak hours. The scheduled commercial operation date is June 30, 2027. This agreement increases ACME Solar’s total PPA-signed capacity to 5,380 MW. The project includes a 100 MW/400 MWh ESS component, enhancing energy availability during peak hours.
ACME Solar Holdings Limited, through its wholly-owned subsidiary ACME Platinum Urja Private Limited, has signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) for a 200 MW solar project with an Energy Storage System (ESS). The agreement, effective for 25 years, involves supplying renewable energy during solar and peak hours. The PPA was signed on November 24, 2025, following tariff adoption by the Central Regulator and power procurement approval by the State Regulator.
The financial terms of the agreement specify a tariff of INR 3.42 per unit for the 200 MW solar project with ESS. The project includes a 100 MW/400 MWh ESS component, which is designed to enhance energy availability during peak hours. This agreement is part of a larger award from SECI, which initially granted ACME Solar a cumulative capacity of 350 MW in July 2024. Out of this, a PPA for 150 MW was signed in October 2024, and the current agreement completes the full capacity under PPA.
The scope of the project requires ACME Solar to maintain an annual Capacity Utilization Factor (CUF) of 25%–27% during solar hours. Additionally, the project must ensure a minimum availability of 70% on a monthly basis and 85% on an annual basis during evening peak hours. The ESS component is expected to support these requirements by storing and discharging energy as needed.
The project is scheduled to be commissioned by June 30, 2027. The timeline benefits from the final grant of connectivity already available for this project. This milestone increases ACME Solar’s total PPA-signed capacity to 5,380 MW, including 800 MW contracted capacity with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) of 2,320 MWh in the current financial year.
