ACME Solar Commissions 155 MW Battery Storage in Rajasthan

ACME Solar Holdings Ltd has commissioned an additional 155 MW / 470 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in Rajasthan. This commissioning was completed through various subsidiaries of the company. The total commissioned BESS capacity of ACME Solar now stands at 297 MW / 952 MWh. The company’s planned BESS capacity is 835 MW / 3,115 MWh across its Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs).

The newly commissioned BESS projects are located in Rajasthan and are connected to the existing operational Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS). These projects will operate on a merchant basis, generating an additional revenue stream through the price differential between peak and non-peak demand hours. The BESS projects are designed to enhance grid reliability and optimize power utilization by charging batteries during non-peak demand periods and discharging during peak demand periods.

ACME Solar Holdings Limited is a significant player in the renewable energy sector, with a diversified portfolio of 8,071 MW spanning solar, wind, storage, FDRE, and hybrid solutions. The company has an operational contracted capacity of 2,978 MW and approximately 1.0 GWh of BESS capacity. Additionally, it has an under-construction contracted capacity of 5,093 MW, including approximately 16 GWh of BESS installations. The under-construction Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) signed portfolio stands at 3,292 MW.
