L&T Secures Major Power Transmission Orders in India and Middle East

Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T) announced on February 25, 2026, that its Power Transmission & Distribution (PT&D) vertical has secured a series of Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) orders for power transmission infrastructure projects in India and the Middle East. These orders are classified as “Major,” indicating a value between ₹5,000 to ₹10,000 crore.

In India, L&T has been awarded contracts for the design, supply, and construction of two 220 kV Gas Insulated Substations located in the Durgapur–Raniganj–Asansol industrial belt of West Bengal. The project scope includes associated transmission line segments featuring advanced conductors and multi-circuit towers. These installations are intended to stabilize voltage profiles and enhance the reliability of power networks supporting infrastructure and industrial projects in the region.

In the Middle East, L&T has secured orders from key utilities for the turnkey construction of five substations and over 250 kilometers of transmission lines. These projects span three different countries and include systems up to 500 kV. One of the projects involves the supply and installation of a 400 kV underground cable system.

The orders reflect the ongoing demand for grid modernization and infrastructure development in response to changing energy requirements and security initiatives. L&T’s role in these projects underscores its capability in delivering complex power transmission solutions.
