The contract involves Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) work for the design, engineering, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of 2KW grid-connected solar rooftop systems. The project also includes operations and maintenance (O&M) for a period of five years.
The total order value stands at ₹445.03 crore (excluding GST) and will be executed in approximately six months. The project covers 77.40 MWp of total installed capacity, spread across 38,699 Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe households in five divisions of Andhra Pradesh — Kovur, Tirupati Rural, Puttur, Chittoor (O), and Chittoor (R).
The project has been awarded through the utility-led aggregation (CAPEX) mode under the government’s renewable energy initiative. Crompton will handle all phases of the project including design, engineering, installation, and testing, ensuring grid connectivity for residential consumers across the target districts.
The company has confirmed that the order was awarded by a domestic government entity and does not involve any related party transactions. Further, no promoter or group company of Crompton has any interest in the awarding entity.
This order marks a major milestone for Crompton’s renewable energy business, following its recent foray into the solar segment. The company has stated that this is its largest-ever solar rooftop project, encompassing installation across more than 40,000 homes and representing a total capacity of 77 MW.
